ND FCCLA Chapters Are Challenged to Raise Money for Heaven’s Helpers Closet(701) & Soup Cafe!
This year, North Dakota FCCLA is proud to partner with Heaven’s Helpers Soup Café & Closet(701) for our state service project. By joining forces with these impactful organizations, our members have a unique opportunity to make a difference in their communities while embodying the spirit of service and leadership.
About the Soup Café…
Heaven’s Helpers Soup Café provides hot meals to individuals and families in need, offering a welcoming space where no one has to go hungry. Located in Bismarck, the café operates through the support of volunteers and donations, serving as a lifeline for many in the community.
About Closet(701)…
Closet(701), also operated by Heaven’s Helpers, is a free community thrift store that provides clothing, household goods, and other necessities to those in need. It serves as a resource to empower individuals and families with essential items while fostering sustainability through donation and reuse.
Volunteer Opportunities
- At the Soup Café: Members can help prepare and serve meals, clean, or greet guests with a smile.
- At Closet(701): Members can sort donations, organize the store, and assist clients in finding what they need.
- Community Service Days: Organize local FCCLA chapters to volunteer in groups for impactful service days.
Fundraising Ideas for FCCLA Chapters
For Heaven’s Helpers Soup Café
- Host a “Soup Supper” Fundraiser: Serve soup and bread for donations, mirroring the simple meals provided by the café.
- Change for Change: Set up donation jars at local businesses to collect spare change for meals.
For Closet(701)
- Clothing Drives: Partner with schools or businesses to collect gently used clothing and household items for Closet(701).
- Fashion Show Fundraiser: Host a show featuring thrifted outfits from Closet(701), charging an entry fee to support the cause.
